Kodak Portra Film

I recently put a roll of Portra 400 through a Nikon SLR and a roll of Portra 120 through a Rolleicord TLR.

What a lovely film!

I was actually surprised how clean and crisp the ISO 400 35mm film images were, but most of all its the lovely, slightly muted, warm colours that work so well with many subjects.

This one of my little son admiring the daffodils was shot through a Nikkor 85 f1.4 AiS lens into quite bright backlighting.  The skin tones are really nice with this film.

This was taken of an old glasshouse door and the film gives it a slightly vintage look.

Here is one from the medium format Rolleicord.  More of the same but an even finer film grain and of course the extra resolution of the big negative.

...and of course a portrait.  The detail, texture and skin tones are just great.  TLR cameras are a wonderful design and so much fun to use.
